Annie Cronin Romano
I am a children's writer (unpublished, but working hard to change that!) specializing in middle grade novels, picture books and children’s poetry. I have loved writing creatively since I could hold a pencil. At age six, I sat down at my kitchen table and wrote my first poem on a 3×3 inch scrap of paper! After graduating from Boston College in 1992 with a degree in English, I went on to earn my teaching certification in high school English and a master’s degree in communication disorders. I currently work as a speech-language therapist in the public schools and write for children every chance I get. An active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, I am continually striving to hone my craft through critique groups, writers' networks, coursework, and children's literature conferences. Chocolate, too, is essential to my writing process!
